It’s moving closer to warm weather in California and we are starting to see lizards in the gardens.
I love their spritely moves and the push-ups in the sunshine always bring a smile to my lips.
I’ve always thought they were strictly bug-eaters until I saw this!New insights!
We don’t use them much anymore, now that most of us aren’t farmers or mariners, but weathervanes still grace our world and add some whimsy. Whichever direction, smile and enjoy!
When I need a quiet place just to think and reflect, I find myself drawn to the beauty and peace of a cemetery. Far from being spooky, I find them places of beautiful sculpture that I find calming. In our older cemeteries, they are filled with the names of people no one now remembers or even knew. But I know they too had their struggles, hope, dreams, and challenges. This is a reminder to me that whatever is bothering me will eventually pass. Life goes on for me, for now. And I must seize the moments I have.
The sunflowers are growing tall and beautiful in the Fullerton Arboretum cultivated gardens. These individual plots are an interesting mix of vegetables, fruits, flowers, and they’re full of quirky garden toys and art. This little squirrel snatched one of the sunflowers, scurried up a Sycamore tree, and proceeded to nibble away. He didn’t seem to mind my watching.
